Happy Easter

I'm not quite sure why I decided to do April NaBloPoMo. I can barely get through November. But here I am, almost asleep, writing some drivel that no one cares about. So since I have had a particular not so fun Easter, let me leave you with this:

BIG Trouble!

Not me, but a kid I know. She broke her bedroom window and then continued to destroy everything she could.

This all happened when I wasn't around thankfully. I just have to help with the clean up and anger control for the next couple of days.

Right now = big headache!

Fashion Flashback Friday

The flashback this week surrounds our fashion memories. You may elaborate on your childhood Easter fashionsand/or share about styles in general. What fashions were popular when you were growing up? (Any time from birth to high school graduation) What did you beg to wear? What style did you happily embrace that you now look back and think, "Ugh! Whatever possessed me to wear that? ( Of course, pictures would be great - the more hideous embarrassing, the better!) Have any of these come back into style? What have you worn that you vowed you never would? (You can also include hairstyles in your walk down Memorial Fashions Lane!)

This will be short.

I grew up in the 90s. My favourite outfit was a matching tights and tshirt combo that was white with very colourful dalmatian spots on it and the 101 Dalmatians on the front of the tshirt. I don't have a picture for you, but I think you can probably imagine for yourself the amazingness of it!

I am sad to say that the wearing of tights as pants is back. I am not a fan.

I also grew up wearing stirrup pants. Which I am thankful to say have not returned. I hope it stays that way! Stirrups was a BIG mistake!

BIG NEWS!

It's April Fool's Day!

Today my Facebook feed was filled with "big news" from many friends!

"WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!!! Pam just showed me the test!!!!!"

"Well, Brent jumped the gun so phonecalls shall follow shortly!"

This from a couple who have vowed never to have children, thanks to a little "snip snip" they hope to keel that vow.

"Happiest day of my life!"

followed by relationship status change to "engaged

This from my ex who I had been hanging out with last night!

"Poor Martina, shoulda never let Jasmyn drive her...."

This from a mom who LOVES her car!

"had a shotgun wedding tonight. Nothing like a bun in the oven to get a guy to commit!"

This from me. I had a few people confused, but most know me and knew it was a joke.

"has fallen for every april fools joke so far today, even the facebook relationships status changes."

And this from a poor friend who I guess didn't realize what day it was.

Random Dozen: Easter Version

1. How do you feel about the marshmallow Easter Peeps?
Ew. So yeah...not a fan. Also not a fan of the creme filled eggs. Caramel for me please!

2. Chickens are notoriously nervous creatures. When you are nervous, what is the best way to calm down?
Being myself in front of a crowd. When I'm given a character it's easy, but when it's me I'm so nervous! I have a pre-show ritual that I do did when I was doing theatre. Breathing and praying is the shortened version.

3. People say, "April showers bring May flowers." Do you enjoy Spring rains?
I love the rain…sometimes. I love the first rain after it's been dry and yucky. The smell, especially after the first neighbour mows their lawn, is awesome!

4. When I was randomly flipping through TV channels this week, I saw a show in which tattoo parlor employees received tattoos of a co-worker's face on their bodies. I can't imagine having a portrait of a colleague tattooed on me. But if someone forced you to receive a portrait tattoo (face only) of anyone, who would it be? Why?
If this is in the future, my child's face. If it is now, umm…Taylor Lautner Jen Miller my kitty. He's adorable and I miss him.

5. Would you rather have a tattoo (any kind) or a nose ring?
Well I have had both. Still have the tattoo, but had to take out the nose ring. I would love to have the nose ring back, and am planning another tattoo. Piercings and tattoos are addicting; it's true.

6. Do you have any special plans for Easter?
I will be working, so I will be hiding easter eggs and making special easter baskets for my "kids".

7. Cadbury Eggs or Reese Eggs?
Cadbury for me. Reese for my roommate.

8. What was the last thing/person you took a picture of?
A rosebush that was just starting to bud.

9. What book are you reading now, or what was the last one?
I am currently reading Grow Great Grub by Gayla Trail (YouGrowGirl) It's awesome and I can't wait to go home and start some seeds!

10. What do you think is the most difficult task when it comes to Spring cleaning?
EVERYTHING! I hate organizing and cleaning! I like having things clean, just not the actual cleaning it myself part. Probably just the starting. Yep starting spring cleaning is the hardest. Or maybe the finishing….since technically we started but haven't finished yet.

11. How many pairs of flip-flops do you own?
Too many.

12. Which color makes you happiest?
Blue. Either a rich sky blue, or a slightly tealy sky blue. Also yellow.
